Most discs
Objective
The board starts with four discs in the middle. Every disc you place flips a run of your opponent's discs to your color. When nobody can move, the color with more discs on the board wins.
How to Play
1
Dark moves first. On your turn, place one disc on an empty square.
2
A placement is only legal if it sandwiches at least one unbroken line of your opponent's discs between the new disc and another of your discs — straight, sideways or diagonally. Legal squares are marked for you.
3
Every sandwiched disc flips to your color, in every direction at once.
4
If you have no legal square, your turn is passed automatically and your opponent goes again. You never choose to pass.
5
The game ends when the board is full or neither player can move. Count the discs — most wins, and an even split is a draw.
Square Values
Square
Why it matters
Corner
Can never be flipped — the strongest square on the board
Next to a corner
Usually hands your opponent the corner
Edge
Hard to flip once the edge line is stable
Centre
Flips constantly — worth little on its own
Strategy Tips
💡
Having the most discs in the middle of the game is usually bad news: every disc you own is a disc your opponent can flip. Aim for fewer discs and more options — if you can shrink your opponent's legal squares to zero, they hand you free turns.
